Long Description : Journey back in time to beautifully manicured grounds and an immaculate antebellum plantation. Belle Meade Plantation features a historically restored mansion that dates back to 1853 and the Harding family’s stables were once world renowned for their breeding of quality Thoroughbred horses. In fact, famous horses such as Secretariat, Seabiscuit, Funny Cide and Smarty Jones can all trace their lineage back to the farm! The house is furnished with original antiques and period fixtures and you can also view 7 other historic outbuildings on property. The 1890s Carriage House and Stables are a grand affair and house an antique carriage collection – many owned by the Harding family. Guided tours of the mansion are conducted by period costumed interpreters and take approximately 1 hour. Check out the new Winery at Belle Meade Plantation, with tastings seven days a week! The Nashville Visitor`s Center is located at the corner of 5th and Broadway in Downtown Nashville inside the Nashville Arena. They are open 7 days a week--Mon-Sat 8:30-5:30, Sun 10:00-5:00.
