Belle Meade Plantation

Once a 5,400-acre world-renowned thoroughbred horse farm, today Belle Meade Plantation is today a 30-acre historical site. Period costumed interpreters guide you through the 1853 Greek Revival Mansion; also view 7 historic outbuildings. Living History offered Friday/Saturday, April through October. Museum Store and Restaurant on property.

Journey back in time to beautifully manicured grounds and an immaculate antebellum plantation. Belle Meade Plantation features a historically restored mansion that dates back to 1853 and the Harding family’s stables were once world renowned for their breeding of quality Thoroughbred horses. In fact, famous horses such as Secretariat, Seabiscuit, Funny Cide and Smarty Jones can all trace their lineage back to the farm! The house is furnished with original antiques and period fixtures and you can also view 7 other historic outbuildings on property. The 1890s Carriage House and Stables are a grand affair and house an antique carriage collection – many owned by the Harding family. Guided tours of the mansion are conducted by period costumed interpreters and take approximately 1 hour. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday, April through October, you can also participate in our Living History demonstrations at the original 1790’s log cabin. Experience blacksmithing, crafts, open hearth cooking, story telling and more! Museum Store and “Martha’s at the Plantation” Restaurant on property.

Hours of Operation: Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 11am-5pm, Last Tour begins at 4pm, Closed Dates: New Year`s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Day, Easter Sunday
Your attraction ticket(s) must be picked up at the Nashville Visitor`s Center before visiting the attraction. The Nashville Visitor`s Center is located at the corner of 5th and Broadway in Downtown Nashville inside the Nashville Arena. They are open 7 days a week--Mon-Sat 8:30-5:30, Sun 10:00-5:00.
